Job Responsibilities
- Plant, cultivate, spray, and harvest crops such as corn, soybeans, and rice
- Operate tractors and self-propelled machinery (including GPS-equipped units)
- Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation systems
- Inspect, grade, sort, and store crops
- Record crop data such as yields, pesticide use, and costs
Farm & Equipment Maintenance
- Repair and maintain tractors, machinery, vehicles, and farm equipment
- Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures
- Haul and spread fertilizer, topsoil, and related materials
- Clean work areas and maintain landscaping around the farm
Other Essential Tasks
- Monitor planting and harvesting crews
- Identify pests, weeds, and plant conditions
- Trap and remove pests (moles, gophers, mice)
- Load agricultural products onto trucks for transport
Requirements
- Minimum 2 months of recent, verifiable farming experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Post-hire random drug testing (no cost to worker)
- Must meet all H-2A program eligibility requirements
