The scholarship focuses on subjects like economics, management, science, technology, and development studies. After completing their degree, scholars are expected to return to their home countries and contribute to development.

The ADB-Japan Scholarship provides full financial support, including:

• Full tuition fees
• Monthly living allowance for daily expenses
• Accommodation or housing allowance
• Books and study materials
• Medical insurance
• Round-trip airfare (economy class)
• Research or thesis grant for graduate students

In some cases, students may also receive additional support for language or computer courses if required.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the ADB-JSP Scholarship 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a citizen of an ADB borrowing member country
• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree with good academic results
• Must have at least 2 years of full-time professional work experience after graduation
• Must be under 35 years old (up to 45 for some senior officials)
• Must have good English language skills
• Must be in good health
• Must agree to return to their home country after completing their studies

Applicants who are ADB staff, family members of staff, or already enrolled in a graduate program are not eligible.
