Myrtle Gonzalez is the First Latin American Movie Star.

She was born on September 28, 1891, and grew up in Los Angeles, California to Mexican immigrant parents.

Her father worked as a carpenter whereas her mother was a homemaker.

Myrtle exhibited a fascination with performing and entertaining at an early age.

She started dancing and singing at local events and swiftly earned recognition for her talent.

 Myrtle made her film debut at the age of 19 with the silent western film 'The Invaders' (1912).

In the next 10 years, she did almost 80 films such as  “One Law for Both” (1917),  “The Easter Lily” (1915) and “The Serpent” (1916).

Gonzalez died during the worldwide Spanish flu pandemic of 1918.
