Want to earn your degree in Ireland without a big financial burden? Ulster University, known for being inclusive and supportive, has opened applications for its Inspire Scholarships 2025/2026. These awards give eligible students a chance to study nearly free at a top university in Northern Ireland.
Here’s how international students living or studying in Northern Ireland can secure a fully funded spot at Ulster University and study there for up to four years, with no tuition fees.

What Is the Inspire Scholarship?
The Inspire Scholarships aim to help students from all backgrounds access higher education. They focus especially on those facing money problems. In September 2025, 27 students starting their first year of undergraduate study will be chosen for these scholarships.
They support both local and international students living in Northern Ireland who plan to start full-time undergraduate courses at Ulster’s campuses in Belfast, Coleraine, or Derry~Londonderry.
What Is the Scholarship’s Value?
Recipients can get:
- £3,000 per year (not including placement year), up to a total of £9,000. There are 20 scholarships available.
- £2,000 per year (not including placement year), up to a total of £6,000. There are 7 scholarships available.
This money can be used for tuition fees, living costs, learning material, or other academic expenses.
Who Can Apply?
To apply for the Inspire Scholarship, you must live in Northern Ireland and meet these basic rules:
- Be in the final year of a Level 3 qualification like A-Levels or BTEC at a Northern Ireland school.
- Have an offer from Ulster University for September 2025.
- Have Ulster as your first choice.
- Have a permanent address in Northern Ireland.
- Come from a household with an income of £22,500 or less.
- Or be receiving free school meals, free school transport, or have been in care.
You also need to meet at least one of these additional rules:
- Be the first in your family to go to university.
- Care for a family member or someone dependent.
- Be estranged from your parents or guardians.
- Have experience in foster care, adoption, or residential care.
- Get Disability Living Allowance or PIP.
- Live in an area with high deprivation based on your postcode (ranked under 356).

Application Deadlines
The deadline to apply is June 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM UK time.
If you get your UCAS decision by May 14, 2025, reply by June 5, 2025.
If your last decision comes after July 17, 2025, reply by July 23, 2025.
Scholarship offers will be made in July 2025. These are provisional and depend on verifying your details and references.
After A-Level results come out on August 14, 2025, final offers will be given once all documents are checked.
