About National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU)
National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University is a prestigious public research university in Taiwan. Originally established in 1896 as Nanyang Public School, the institution has a long academic history and global recognition. Financial Coverage of NYCU/NCTU International Scholarships
The Government of Taiwan provides full financial support to selected students under the NYCU/NCTU International Scholarships 2026–27. The benefits include the following monthly stipends:
- Undergraduate Students:
Up to NT$21,000 per month (approximately US$700) - Master’s Students:
Up to NT$22,000 per month (approximately US$733) - PhD Students:
Up to NT$29,000 per month (approximately US$966)
Scholarship Duration and Renewal

- Renewal: Scholarships may be renewed based on:

Outstanding current students may receive tuition reductions and/or cash awards, with renewals possible for multiple years depending on degree level and performance.

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Must be a foreign national (non-Taiwanese citizen)
- Must be mentally and physically fit
- Must not hold any other scholarship at the same time
- Must submit the application honestly, completely, and accurately
- Must submit all required application materials
- Bachelor’s Programs: High school diploma required
- Master’s Programs: Bachelor’s degree required
- PhD Programs: Master’s degree required
- Must meet language requirements (IELTS not required if previous education was in English)
