The Heinrich Böll Foundation Scholarships provide generous funding depending on your nationality, previous education, and study level.

For Undergraduate & Master’s Students

  • Monthly Stipend: Up to €649 per month
  • Additional Allowance: €300 per month book allowance
  • Health Insurance: Coverage included
  • Travel Allowance: May be provided based on country of origin

For PhD Students

  • Students educated in Germany (any nationality): €1350/month + €100 research allowance
  • EU Students educated outside Germany: €1350/month + €100 research allowance
  • Non-EU Students educated outside Germany: Non-EU Students educated outside Germany

  • Only eligible for Master’s degree.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must provide German proficiency (B2 or DSH-2).

Non-EU Students
