This prestigious scholarship supports talented students planning to pursue a Master’s degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or PhD program at selected Irish higher education institutions.

The scholarship is jointly offered by the Government of Ireland and participating Irish Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Its primary goal is to strengthen global academic collaboration and attract outstanding international students to Ireland’s world-class education system.
For the 2026 academic year, 60 scholarships will be awarded for one year of full-time study, starting in September 2026. Applications are welcomed from all academic disciplines, and final-year undergraduate students are also encouraged to apply.

Financial Benefits of GOI-IES 2026
The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship provides substantial financial support to selected scholars to help them focus fully on their studies.
- €10,000 Annual Stipend
Provided to support living expenses, study materials, and daily academic needs during the scholarship period. - Full Tuition Fee Waiver
Host institutions will cover 100 percent of tuition and registration fees for the duration of the scholarship.
Scholarship Duration and Conditions
The GOI-IES operates on a one-year funding model, making it suitable for master’s programs, postgraduate diplomas, and specific PhD research phases.

- No renewal or extension is permitted
