Jobs Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily management of the dairy herd
- Perform milking duties to a consistent, high standard
- Maintain hygiene and safety in the parlour and yard
- Monitor cow health and report illnesses to the Herd Manager
- Support with dry cow management, calving, and colostrum routines
- Conduct general yard work, including feeding, scraping, and bedding
- Operate machinery such as tractors and telehandlers (if licensed)
- Participate in arable work — rolling, cultivating, spraying, and moving bales
- Carry out fencing, repairs, and basic ground maintenance
- Follow all health and safety procedures on-site
Requirements
- Previous dairy farming and tractor driving experience
- Enthusiasm for animal welfare and sustainable agriculture
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Proof of UK right to work (visa sponsorship available)
- Telehandler licence preferred but not essential

About the Farm
Our family-owned dairy and arable farm spans 900 acres with excellent facilities, including a 24/48 herringbone parlour, cubicle mattresses with milled straw bedding, and a modern grazing platform. We also manage a 150-acre arable operation. The milk we produce is supplied through a First Milk contract, and we maintain detailed herd records using Uniform software.
