We are pleased to inform you that applications are invited for the Commonwealth Professional Fellowships 2024/25 in the UK. Applicants who wish to study but are from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries are encouraged to apply for the Mid-Career Professional Fellowship to spend time in the UK. The fully-funded international fellowship is for mid-career professionals to equip them with such knowledge and skills in their own fields.
The Fellowships cover Air tickets from the home country to the UK, a standard visa application fee, provide a living allowance up to 1,944 per month for the award period of £2,397 per month, and an arrival allowance of up to £1,061.10. The Funding is provided by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID).. Benefits of the Commonwealth Professional Fellowships 2024/25
- The Air Ticket will be reimbursed to the applicants from their home country to the UK.
- The standard visa application fee will be reimbursed.
- Applicants will receive a monthly stipend including a living allowance at the rate of £1,944 per month for the award period or £2,397 per month in the London Metropolitan Area (rates quoted at 2022/23 levels).
- Applicants will receive financial assistance if they declare a disability.
- Applicants will get an arrival allowance of up to £1,061.10.
- Applicants will be paid £3,000 to the host institution towards administration and peer support. (on seed receipt).

Eligibility Criteria for Commonwealth Professional Fellowships 2024/25
- Candidates must be nationals of an eligible Commonwealth country, or become a British Protected Person.
- Candidates must be permanent residents of an eligible country of the Commonwealth.
- The applicant must have at least five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant work experience, in a profession related to the subject of the fellowship program.
- The applicant must be employed at the time of the application.
- Candidates should not be seeking to undertake any academic program or study. Academics are eligible to apply for the scheme, but only to run programs in educational management, research, or courses relevant to their research topic.
- Be available to pursue their fellowship from the scheduled start date.
