Fields of Study

The scholarship supports students pursuing the following disciplines:

• Engineering – Design, construction, and optimization of machines, structures, and systems (excluding Computer Engineering or Computer Science)
• Economics – Study of money, business, and resource utilization by individuals, businesses, and governments
• Finance – Money management, investments, and financial planning
• Management – Organizing, directing, and operating businesses or organizations effectively

Scholarship Benefits

The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship is fully funded and covers:

• Full tuition fee waiver
• International travel expenses to and from the USA
• Monthly stipend and living allowance
• Health insurance coverage
• Internship opportunities during study

Duration of Study:

• Bachelor’s Degree: 4 years
• Master’s Degree: 2 years

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Be an Egyptian citizen currently residing in Egypt (dual nationality candidates are not preferred)
2. Have excellent academic records (minimum GPA 3.5 or 90% in high school or equivalent)
3. Currently in Grade 11 or 12 before July 31, 2026
4. Demonstrate strong English proficiency: TOEFL ≥ 100 or IELTS Academic ≥ 7.5 (taken within the last 2 years)
5. Achieve high SAT (≥1450) or ACT (≥32) scores (taken within the last 2 years)
6. Actively participate in co-curricular activities, including sports, community service, or clubs
7. Plan to start education in the United States in 2027
8. Preferably lived in Egypt for most of their lives (not abroad for more than 2 years)
9. Must return to Egypt after completing the bachelor’s degree and stay in Egypt for at least 2 years

Undergraduate Application

1. Create an account on the AMIDEAST application portal
2. Complete personal and academic information
3. Submit two essays: Statement of Purpose and Passion Essay
4. Upload required documents:
   • Academic transcripts

   • SAT and TOEFL scores
   • Two recommendation letters

Master’s Application

1. Complete the graduate application form on the official portal
