• Two Letters of Recommendation
• Proof of English Language Proficiency
• IELTS certificate (required if previous education was not conducted in English)

Applications are assessed by an allocation committee consisting of Leiden University academics from various disciplines. The committee evaluates the academic relevance and contribution of the proposed project.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply for the Leiden University Minerva Scholarships 2026–27:

• Membership of L.S.V. Minerva is not required
• Applicants must demonstrate a high level of academic or research excellence
• The proposed project must be a study, research, or internship project
• A final report with photos and relevant documentation must be submitted after project completion
• Applicants must be PhD students at Leiden University who have already completed a Master’s degree at the university
