Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CERN Student Internship Program 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a Bachelor’s or Master’s student (PhD students are not eligible)
  • Must have completed at least three years of full-time university studies by Summer 2026
  • Must remain registered as a student during the internship period
  • Students graduating in Summer 2026 (from May onwards) are also eligible
  • Must not have previously worked at CERN for more than three months in any capacity
  • Must not have participated previously as a CERN Summer Student
  • Strong knowledge of English is required; knowledge of French is an advantage
