Work Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive case management services, including recruitment, enrollment, family needs assessment, and referrals for the Head Start Program.
- Maintain accurate records including Master Files, weekly data entry, attendance tracking, and timely reporting.
- Conduct community outreach and recruitment events to attract eligible families and children.
- Build trust and long-term relationships with families facing social and economic challenges.
- Help families identify personal goals and create realistic action plans to achieve them.
- Communicate regularly with teaching staff about child and family progress.
- Provide crisis intervention and supportive listening when needed.
- Encourage and coordinate parent participation in Head Start activities.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to Head Start and LCCAP policies and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Associate’s Degree in Social Services or related field
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field
Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in social services or a related area
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Understanding of family development and community resources
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
- A genuine passion for helping families succeed
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
- Moderate local travel within the community
- Valid PA Driver’s License and reliable personal vehicle
- Must pass Act 33/34 background checks (Child Abuse and Criminal History)
- Must complete a health assessment prior to employment
